First days in Sydney
I’m in Australia ! I’ve already left Sydney and I’m in a campervan somewhere on the Great Ocean Road but for now I’ll tell you my first days in Sydney.
I arrived in Sydney on the 30th december. At the airport the immigration process was really fast, the guy just put my passport in the scanner, probably retreive my online visa application and that’s all ! No question or anything. For the luggages a dogs checked my bag and I was succesfully entered in the country
After reached the city by train, I had to get a sim card and try to open a bank account. I got a Telstra simcard, who is supposed to have the best network, and after leaving the cities it looks like they have. For the bank account the HSBC ask me for a 2000 A$ deposit so we will see that later.
After these little administrative details I join my friend who lived already there for a few months to put my luggages at her flat (500m from the beach and shared with 6 girls… I could have found worst
). And I had a really bad idea : go to the beach ! After such a flight it’s the worst thing to do in Australia, I felt asleep on the beach and got my worst sunburn ever !
I spent the next days to cover myself with aloe vera with pain and to totally avoid the sun. After 6 days, my feet are still red :
I still managed to go the NYE in Bondi with David Guetta. I was definitelly not my best concert and really overpriced but maybe my burned legs didn’t really helped me to enjoy it. If I’m still in Australia next year, I’ll go in Sydney’s harbor instead.
I also spend some time to walk around the city and visit a few things such as the Royal Botanic Garden or the Harbor. And then start the real adventure : the road trip to Adelaide via Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road !
